Matthew 25:31-46
"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'
"Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'
Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
Before we look at Matthew 25, let as look at some symbols in the Bible. The Bible interpret itself.
Stars.
In Genesis 37:9-10 stars represents Israel. Revelation 12:1
In Revelation 1:20 stars are the angels of the seven churches.
Joseph had a second dream and his father gave the Interpretation of it in Genesis 37.
Genesis 37:9-10
:9 Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me."
:10 So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?"
Revelation 12:1 - "Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars".
In verse 1 the woman is Israel. As we see the symbols, the sun, moon and stars, which represent Israel.
Revelation 12:5 - "She bore a male child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne".
In Revelation 12:5 we see the male child. As the woman in verse 1 represents a group of people, the Hebrews (children of Israel) it can not be Mary, and the male child also represents a group of people and not Jesus.
The male child will be caught up directly after birth. Again Jesus was not taken back to heaven as a baby after His birth. What we read in Revelation 12 is the 144 000 Hebrews (children of Israel) that will rule all nations after the rapture of the body of Christ. Then they will be taken up to heaven, to the throne of God.
Lion.
In Revelation 5:5 Jesus is the Lion of Judah.
In 1 Peter 5:8 we see the lion is a symbol of satan.
Revelation 5:5 - But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."
1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Snake/Serpent.
In Numbers 21:9 the serpent represent Jesus on the cross.
In Genesis 3 the serpent represent Satan and in Revelation 12:9
Numbers 21:9 - So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
Revelation 12:9 - So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Sheep.
In John 10:13-15 we see that we are the sheep hearing Jesus our Shepherd's voice.
In Matthew 25 we see that there will be nations that will be called sheep.
John 10:13-15
:13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.
:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
:15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
Another Scripture we must take note off before we come to Matthew 25 is Micah 5:2-3
:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me, the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting."
:3 Therefore He shall give them up, until the time that she who is in labor has given birth, then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel.
In Micah 5:2 we see clearly that it was a Prophecy about Jesus that would be born in Bethlehem, and that happened.
In Micah 5:3 where is says about "His brethren". In this verse it is clear that the Hebrews (children of Israel) are the brothers of Jesus.
Matthew 25:31-46
:31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
Clearly Jesus told His disciples that He will come back as a King and "He will sit on His throne of His glory". This will be His second coming.
Many Christians use these verses wrongly as they say that we are now in the time of the "sheep and the goats". No, we are not. When Jesus comes back as a King He will judge the nations on how they treated "the least of these His brethren", the people of God, the descendants of Abraham.
Son of Man is Jesus coming back the second time as a King in His glory and He shall sit on His throne as a King.
He shall gather all the nations. Not the Church as we will have been Raptured.
Jesus will separate the nations into sheep and goats.
The separation will be determined by how the nations treated His brothers, the Hebrews (children of Israel) during the tribulation.
Matthew 25:31-46
"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory".
This will happen after the seven year (great) tribulation. The Hebrews waited for their Messiah.
First time mentioning of a Messiah King in Hannah's prayer.
1 Samuel 2:10 "It is not by strength that one prevails, those who oppose the Lord will be broken. The Most High will thunder from heaven, the Lord will judge the ends of the earth. "He will give strength to His King and exalt the horn of His anointed."
Luke 1:32-33 "He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."
The woman (Israel) is also spoken of as married to God.
Isaiah 54:5, Jeremiah 3:14, Hosea 2:16
