Judgment Announced

Amos 3:7 - Certainly the Lord will do nothing without making clear his secret to his servants, the prophets.

God's judgment will never come as a complete surprise to us. God will always announce before hand any judgment to give us the church an opportunity to repent and turn from our sin.

2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, on whom my name is named, make themselves low and come to me in prayer, searching for me and turning from their evil ways; then I will give ear from heaven, overlooking their sin, and will give life again to their land.

But God will also give the nations an opportunity to repent and turn to God. To turn to His Son Jesus Christ the Anointed One as their Savior and Lord.

1 John 1:9 - If we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and true to his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.

It is clear in the Word that God always find a righteous man and make known His judgment that is coming and what God is doing. This He do in order for us to make known to those around as and for repentance.

Genesis 6:13 - And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come; the earth is full of their violent doings, and now I will put an end to them with the earth.

Genesis 18:17-19 - And the Lord said, Am I to keep back from Abraham the knowledge of what I do; Seeing that Abraham will certainly become a great and strong nation, and his name will be used by all the nations of the earth as a blessing? For I have made him mine so that he may give orders to his children and those of his line after him, to keep the ways of the Lord, to do what is good and right: so that the Lord may do to Abraham as he has said.

There is a need of prophets, preachers and teachers of God to open their mouths and speak the Word of God.

In Jeremiah 23:22 - God said: "But if they had been in my secret, then they would have made my people give ear to my words, turning them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings".

Here we see that the prophets prophesied their own words and God was against them. God spoke to Jeremiah and said that He "will bring an everlasting reproach . . . " The Lord showed Jeremiah through a vision what God was about to do.

We need to seek God for understanding of the Word of God. What God is doing on the earth is all in His Word.

Daniel knew the importance of this and he prayed. He ". . turning my face to the Lord God, I gave myself up to prayer, requesting his grace, going without food, in haircloth and dust".

The result of this was Daniel 9:22 - And teaching me and talking to me he said, O Daniel, I have come now to give you wisdom.

In John 15:15 - Jesus said to His followers: No longer do I give you the name of servants; because a servant is without knowledge of what his master is doing: I give you the name of friends, because I have given you knowledge of all the things which my Father has said to me.

Jesus did not say this just so that we the church can know something which no one else know. But it is our responsibility to make this known to the world. To the Jews, the Nations and the Church.

Judgment is coming and God is making the announcement by signs, By taking note of the signs we can come to repentance. It does not need to be judgment to us but a blessing. The choice is ours.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 - Let heaven and earth be my witnesses against you this day that I have put before you life and death, a blessing and a curse: so take life for yourselves and for your seed: In loving the Lord your God, hearing his voice and being true to him: for he is your life and by him will your days be long: so that you may go on living in the land which the Lord gave by an oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Joshua 24:15 - And if it seems evil to you to be the servants of the Lord, make the decision this day whose servants you will be: of the gods whose servants your fathers were across the River, or of the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living: but I and my house will be the servants of the Lord.
