We have supernatural help from on high, but do we know that, and do we appreciate and make use of the privilege?
Hebrews 1:13-14
13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
All of us need help. In our daily walk many things happen and we have to make decisions and act on what is happening around us. Every new day brings new challenges and we try to think "what would Jesus do in the situation". Jesus said clearly what He could do when He was in the garden of Gethsemane.
Matthew 26:53
53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?
The night when Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane, He had more than twelve legions of angels ready to help Him, if He would pray and ask His Father. These angles could have wiped out the entire human race. But Jesus voluntarily laid down His life for the sin of the human race.
How many angels will be a "legion of angels"? The word "legion" is a military term that was taken from the Roman army. There were at least 6000 men in a legion. Thus more than 72.000 angels would have been ready for Jesus and on His word when calling out to His Father for help, more than 72.000 angels would have immediately rushed to His assistance.
Looking at Isaiah 37:36 we see that one angel killed 185.000 of the Assyrians. If that is what one angels can do (and I do not believe that is all they can do), think about what 72.000 angels could do. 13.320.000.000 people could be killed on the spot if Jesus would only pray and asked His Father. And that is more than double the amount of human beings on the earth.
But praise God Jesus chose to voluntarily lay down His life for the sin of the human race and in stead of calling the angels to wipe out the human race, Jesus chose to wipe out sin and gave the human race an opportunity to be saved.
36 Then the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses-all dead.
So can we just call on the angels and give them instruction to go out working for us? No definitely not!!!
There are clear instructions in the Word of God for us to follow. We ask according to God's Word and Will. We should know the Word of God and then we will also know the Will of God.
When we are in need of anything, we stand on the promises of God and the Words of God come out of our mouths, the angels immediately will rush to help us and bring the answers to our prayers.
Psalm 103:20
20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.
