When we meet Jesus we will have Shalom

What a wonderful assurance that after we have met Jesus we are in total peace - shalom. The mercy of God is extended to all people. When sin rules in our lives we do not have fellowship with Jesus. Spiritually we die and we can not be effective as we are supposed to be. A very important example of what happens where sin rules in our lives we find in Numbers 12:10-12.

Numbers 12
10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

Miriam and Aaron sinned against Moses and the Lord. Miriam became a leprous and we see in the scripture it mentions that " the flesh is half consumed". This is what leprosy do to a person. Parts of the body just die and fell of. Like fingers, toes and nose. Leprosy is a very serious sickness. Lepers were declared unclean and had to live outside the city. Lepers became outcasts. (Lev. 13)

One day ten men that were lepers met Jesus on the road. They called out to Jesus and asked Him to have mercy on them. Jesus "saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests". This was the costume for the lepers to show themselves to the priest in order to be declared that they have been healed. (Lev. 14). The ten men were cleansed of leprosy as they went away on their way to the priests. We can presume that the flesh of these ten men already were "half consumed". They were healed but they carried the marks of leprosy.

Luke 17
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

There was one man when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God. He expressed his great gratitude. This grateful man received much more. He went back to Jesus. Now we see that this man was healed, he did not need more healing, but Jesus said: "thy faith hath made thee whole". What had happened when Jesus said to him: "thy faith hath made thee whole". Jesus had restored what was lost.

The word "whole" here in the Word is the word "Shalom". Shalom comes from the root word "Salem" which mean "wholeness, nothing missing and nothing broken".

Nahum 1:15(a)
"Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace!"

Peace - Shalom = Strongs 7965:

Completeness, wholeness, peace, health, welfare, prosperity, safety, soundness, tranquillity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony,

Jesus said that this man was "made whole". From this we can know that what ever part of his flesh which was "half consumed" was made whole, restored as if he had never had leprosy.

This is what happens with us when we come to Jesus and fell at his feet, giving him thanks. He will make us whole. Everything which the devil have stolen from us, our peace, our health, our family, our prosperity, everything.

Another example of what happen when we come to Jesus we find in Luke 8:43-48.

A woman came to Jesus and we have to remember that in the times when Jesus walk this earth, women wasn't consider as having the right to talk to men. Women were nothing. Specially this women which had a severe sickness. She come to Jesus and touched the border of his garment. She was healed immediately. When Jesus spoke to her he said: "thy faith hath made thee whole". Again she was already healed and did not need more healing. What did Jesus do when he said, "thy faith hath made thee whole"? He restored back to her what she had lost. He gave her total wholeness. In her case we see that she "had spent all her living upon physicians". After being sick for twelve years, she by then had no friends. Jesus restored back everything she lost and made her whole. He gave her shalom, wholeness, nothing missing and nothing broken.

Luke 8
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

Did you lose your fellowship with God? Are you a leper spiritually? Are you an outcast? Come to Jesus now. He is waiting for you. He is ready to say: "Have Shalom, wholeness, nothing missing and nothing broken".

Shalom, Shalom.
