In the Gospels Jesus talked about the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God. The only thing Jesus preaches was the Kingdom of God.
What is the Kingdom?
Genesis 1:26 - Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
In this verse there are two very important things we have to know.
1. The word "man" from the original scripture is a "plural word". Therefore also God said: "them" in the same verse. God did not make one man but a "species". What God intended for Adam, He intended for the human race.
2. "let them have dominion". Dominion is the word (ממלכה) "Mamlakah" from the Hebrew which also is the word "Kingdom". (mam-law-kaw' from 4427; dominion, i.e. (abstractly) the estate (rule) or (concretely) the country (realm):-Kingdom, King's, reign, royal. - Strong's Hebrew Lexicon)
God gave Adam dominion - a Kingdom. In Genesis we see clearly that God had prepared earth for Adam before He had release Adam on earth. He had prepared the territory, earth for the King, Adam to rule. When God gave Adam dominion over earth, God gave him Kingship over a territory called earth.
Therefore ruler-ship is the purpose for man. Our purpose was never meant to be worship, but ruler-ship. Worship has to do with relationship and ruler-ship has to do with mandate.
Adam was the created Son of God. He was just like God. He was just as pure as God was pure. God fellowshipped with him. The Word of God tells us that God came down into the garden in the cool of the day, and walked with Adam, and talked with Adam.
There was perfect fellowship between God the King and Adam the King. Adam was a sinless man. He could look right into the face of God and the purity of God did not startle him. He was just as pure as God was pure. That was the original man, the King of the territory called earth.
Man, being composed of God, of heaven, of a heavenly materiality, and his body of the earth, being a King like God, being on an equality with God in sinless-ness, God treating Adam on an equality and giving Adam dominion over earth. God made Adam a reigning King on the earth. Everything, all conditions, spiritual and physical, were subject to that God-man, Adam the King.
Adam chose to follow the inclinations of his earth-being instead of his God-man, God-being, or spirit. Therefore the fall of man, the King, was his fall into his own earthly self, out of his ruler-ship as King over the territory called earth.
Man, having fallen into that condition and being separated from God, needed a Redeemer. God had to provide a means of getting man back into the original position in which he had once been. The position of Kingship, man needed a Redeemer, a King to restore the human race back to Kingship.
