The Sin of Offence

Jesus Warns of Offences
Jesus made it very clear that it is impossible to live in this world and not have the opportunity to become offended. Yet most believers are shocked, bewildered, and amazed when it happens. We believe we are the only ones who have been wronged. This response leaves us vulnerable to a root of bitterness. Therefore we must be prepared and armed for offences, because our response determines our future

Luke 17:1-5 - And [Jesus] said to His disciples, Temptations (snares, traps set to entice to sin) are sure to come, but woe to him by or through whom they come! It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were hurled into the sea than that he should cause to sin or be a snare to one of these little ones [lowly in rank or influence]. Pay attention and always be on your guard [looking out for one another]. If your brother sins (misses the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feels sorry for having sinned), forgive him. And even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times and says, I repent [I am sorry], you must forgive him (give up resentment and consider the offence as recalled and annulled). The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God).

Many are unable to function properly in their calling because of the wounds and hurts that offences have caused in their lives. Only those you care about can hurt you. (Psalms 55:12 - 14) You expect more from them-after all, you've given more of yourself to them. The higher the expectations, the greater the fall

Psalm 55:12-14 - For it is not an enemy who reproaches and taunts me-then I might bear it; nor is it one who has hated me who insolently vaunts himself against me-then I might hide from him. But it was you, a man my equal, my companion and my familiar friend. We had sweet fellowship together and used to walk to the house of God in company.

The sin of offence can cause us to be broken and sick. What ever happens in our soul effect our health and our money. 3 John 2. Sin wounds our soul, and specifically the sin of offence. So if we get often offended, we will be sick and we will be broke. We get so many times offended because of so many things. We should be careful not to take offence and also not to give offence. But we all had committed the sin of offence by offended somebody, more often than we would want to admit. That had wounded not only their soul, but also our own soul got wounded. Also our soul got wounded when somebody else hurt and offended us. But trauma could have caused wounds in our soul.

We are a three part being, Spirit, Soul and Body. Our spirit became perfect when we got born again. The Bible says that the same Spirit who lives in Jesus lives in us and there is nothing wrong with the Spirit of Jesus. Our soul, mind, emotions and intellect, must go through a process to come under the Lordship and submission of Christ.

Isaiah 30:26 - Moreover, the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, like the light of seven days [concentrated in one], in the day that the Lord binds up the hurt of His people, and heals their wound [inflicted by Him because of their sins].
The Word here says that we have a wound. This word wound means - pain, hurt and sorrow.

Psalm 41:4 - I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee...

Psalm 147:3 - He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
This word "heart" means the "soul".

Psalm 147:3 - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

One example of a person who had a wound in his soul and it made him sick in his body.
John 5:1-5 - After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

This word infirmity means to be weak and infirm in both body and soul.

The Bible teaches us that this man was sick because he had a wound in his soul. How do we know that? After Jesus heal the man, He met up with him in the temple and He said to him stop sinning or something worst may happen to you.
John 5:14 - Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

In the Word we see that sin and sickness are directly connected.
James 5:14-15 - Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

James 5 confesses to one another that you may be healed and the word "heal" means "to be cured and heal of diseases".

Diseases, "malakia" in Greek means sickness, illness, infections, poisons. Toxins and parasites.

When you are offended it does not only allows diseases and disorders to come on us but it, open you up for a demonic spirit to come upon you and put diseases and disorders upon you

Offences not only can make you sick but it can also stop the Supernatural Power of Jesus working in your live.
Matthew 13:54-58 - When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?" So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house." Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Luke 13:11 - And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up

This woman had a spirit on her which bent her over.
The Bible says she had a spirit of infirmity. And why was that, she had a wound in her soul. If you have a spirit of infirmity on you and you apply the Blood and rebuke the spirit, and the spirit is still there. Why. Because the wound is still there and you need the "dunamis" Power to get that wound healed.

Not only can you not get healed but you can not pray for others to get healed.

John 14:30 - New King James Version (NKJV) :30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.

John 14:30 - Amplified Bible (AMP)
:30 I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]

So when we pray for someone else and we have no success, is because we have something in common with that demon. The only place we can something in common with the demon is in our soul. Demons torment you because you have something in common with them. When your soul wounds are healed and you have no wounds in your soul, demons will bed you not to torment them as they will recognize that you have nothing in common with them and so he has no power over you to torment you.

Steps to get Healed
1. The Blood of Jesus is for the sin of the world. He shed His Blood on the cross to wash away our sins, every sin that we commit. So the first thing we should do when we get offended, we need to repent, we need to forgive and we need to apply the Blood of Jesus on our sins. We should take time and come before the Lord and repent. This is step one, with out the Blood the sin of offence stay within us.
2. Step two we need to apply the Power called "dunamis" (Greek) for the wounds on our soul that the offences made.

Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power ("dunamis") who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. So Jesus had this anointing that God gave Him and it was called "dunamis" and He used this Power called "dunamis" to do all the miracles

Some of the meanings of the word "dunamis" in the Greek is: - The power to perform miracles, to be excellent of soul.

3 John 2 - Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

"dunamis" makes those wounds be healed. It makes the wounds in our soul to be come excellent. We get the "dunamis" Power through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul said in Phl 3-10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

The resurrection of Jesus gave us the Power called "dunamis" which makes us excellent soul.
Luke 5:17 - And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

The man in Luke 5:17 was lame and they led him through the roof to Jesus and the first thing Jesus said to him was, your sins are forgiven. Jesus used "dunamis" Power to heal this man and made his soul prospers as his soul was prospered.

We have to have both the Cross, the Blood of Jesus and the resurrection, the "dunamis" Power The power of the resurrection is the missing link. We missed it until now. We all have partaken from the Blood and we all need the Blood. What would we do without the Blood of Jesus. The Blood washes away our sins. But we also have to have the Power, the "dunamis" Power which came through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Blood is for the sin, but that sin left a wound behind and it has a consequence and that which minister to the wounds is the "dunamis" Power that comes through the resurrection. We have to have them both.

It is time to put it to practice

I repent for every time I said slanders, offended words out of my mouth. I put the Blood of Jesus on every sin. God go back to all the time I spoken evil. God show my mercy. Heal me now. Put your Blood on my sin, my words had been deadly wounded my soul. I ask that You wash away my sin with Your Blood. Cleanse my mouth with your Blood in Jesus Name. I forgive every person that had spoke words against me. Put the Blood on their sin Lord, wash them cleanse so they will not became sick. Apply Your Blood to their sin in Jesus Name. Amen

Jesus put Your "dunamis" Power on every deadly wound. My words made deadly wounds and they went down to the innermost part of soul and wounded my soul. Now I partake of the "dunamis" that comes from the resurrection of Jesus. It is going to give me what "dunamis" means, the Power to perform miracles and to be excellent of soul. I am excellent of Soul, I am excellent of soul. Amen
