Since the first day we learned about the principle of sowing and reaping, we have given offerings and sown seed into the kingdom of God. We really got the conviction about this principle and we sown seed in and out of season. We started to experience a measure of blessing. Yet we knew we haven't reaped the "thirty, sixty, or hundred fold" return Jesus said could be ours.
Mark 4:8 - But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred."
We could not understand this. We started seeking God because we knew that we should have received a bigger harvest. We did not see the quality of increase we see in the Word of God. So we started to spend more time in the Word of God concerning our harvest. What we found is that the Bible gives us clear insights that, when we followed the Word there is a guarantee that we will reap a plentiful harvest - every time.
2 Corinthians 9:6 - But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Luke 6:38 - Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
This is such a well-known portion in Scripture that we miss what the basic principle is. And even though we sown seed we did not do that according to the above two Scriptures. We failed to realize that God didn't determine the size of our harvest but we determined the size of our harvest the moment we decided how much seed we have sown. Sometimes we did not sow much seed, so we did not have much of a harvest. What we also did was when we received a harvest we spend it on themselves and we did not realize that we had delayed our own prosperity by doing that. We ate our seed. But we had learned better since and know now that our harvest in life will depend entirely on what we sows
Galatians 6:7 - Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
The quantity of our harvest is directly affected by the quality of the ground where we have sown. We made big mistakes in the past as we have sown seed in to "bad" ground. This caused us to lose our seed as we did not receive a harvest from that seed. We also did not realize that until we started to spend time in the Word of God and found the way how to determine what good ground is.
Matthew 7:16 - You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
Jesus gave us a clear direction of how we can determine good or bad ground. If a ministry is yielding solid, scriptural fruit - such as getting people born again, edifying believers, preaching the unadulterated Word of God, or helping the poor - then it's probably a good place to plant our seed. The Holy Spirit will not lead us to waste our seed by planting it in ground that's not strong and good enough to nourish it and produce a harvest. And we did not lean on the Holy Spirit before, but since we learned the hard way, we want to help you not to do what we did. That's why we al need to be led by the Holy Spirit about where to and not to sow. We have to stay open to the Spirit of God to direct your giving. Then follow that inward witness, knowing that He's leading us to sow in good ground.
Please read the teachings we have on this site about tithing. Tithing and sowing are two different things. Tithing is a first principle on our way to a great harvest. Although tithing does not determent our harvest, it opens the door and is the key to our harvest being blessed. Our tithes belongs to the Lord and we can not use what is not ours to sow. If we are tithers, God says He will "rebuke the devourer for our sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of our ground" (Mal. 3:11).
Since we learned these three very important things, we know that we are going to have a great harvest. We make sure that we bring our tithes to the Lord first. And only after that we start sowing seed. We waited on the Holy Spirit to lead us where to sow our seed and we also lean on the Holy Spirit for guidance for the amount we should sow.
After we determined where and who much, we name our seed. We write down the harvest we want from this seed and we pray over the seed. We find Scripture to pray over our seed and we water our seed by the Word of God. Then we start calling our harvest from the unseen to the seen realm. We speak by experience and this became a way of living.
We pray that you will take heed and seek Gods will concerning sowing and reaping in your own live.
The Lord rebukes the devourer for my sake because I am a tither. I am a giver and a sower and there-for I am blessed and will have a great harvest. I declare that God's favour promotes and causes me to increase daily. Wealth and riches are in my house because I am empowered with His anointing and favour to draw wealth. The Lord takes pleasure in my total life prosperity.
