The Day Willie Died

This is part of our testimony concerning Willie's Liver Transplant in 2015.

At first Cornelia will give her account of her experience of what happened and then Willie will give an account of his experience

Cornelia:- Willie received his first liver transplant and we give God all the glory and honour and praise as He is our loving Father and love us so much that He will go against natural and medical laws in order for His Will to be done.

The miracle journey that Willie is still walking in, started on 9th of March 2015. This part of our testimony start in April 2015

The morning of April 5th 2015 the doctor told me that we nearly lost Willie during the night as his nose started to bleed and he was lying on his back as he choked in his blood.

He died and they had to resuscitate him. His spirit left his body and he was transported to a building. What he saw is a testimony for another day.

They induced a coma, blocked his nose and inserted a tube through his mouth to help him breath. Willie was on live support after this.

April 6th 2015. The doctors started to prepare me for the worst. They said that they weren't treating the liver anymore as it was dead, they only substituted the functions of the liver, and they could not do that for very long. They offered me a psychiatrist, they had no hope for Willie any more, and I refused to speak to the psychiatrist.

They told me to call the children to come and say goodbye. But I decided not to speak death over Willie by repeating what the doctors said and didn't allow the enemy to use my mouth to kill Willie. The Word says life and death is in the power of our tongues.

I stood on Psalm 41 and spoke it over Willie for hours. "The Lord will preserve Willie and keep Willie alive until his new liver arrives. The Lord will strengthen Willie and sustain him on his sickbed in Jesus Name". I sowed a seed into Kim Clement Ministry who build bomb shelters in Israel and I named my seed, "Lord I ask you to build a spiritual bomb shelter around Willie and preserve him and keep him alive".

April 7th 2015. I prayed Psalm 41 as the days before, and after an hour of prayer next to Willie's bed, the doctor said that they received a liver and the surgery will start soon. After about 12 hours the doctor called me and said Willie survived the surgery. He said that it was a "bloody" operation. Willie received 22 units of blood and 14 units of blood plasma.

During this time hundreds of people prayed with and for us. The body of Christ came together as a spiritual army and people we know as well as people we do not know prayed for us. Friends and family around the world prayed for us. Family and friends mobilized prayer groups, one such prayer group went into a time of fasting and prayer.

As from April 7th 2015 until April 10th 2015 Willie was critical and we received good news as well as bad news from the doctors. At first it seemed like the liver started to function but then the new liver started failing. Friday morning April 10th 2015 the doctors told me that Willie was back on the transplant list because the first donor liver failed. They said this time Willie is worse off than before.

I kept praying Psalm 41 "The Lord will preserve Willie and keep Willie alive until his new liver arrives. The Lord will strengthen Willie and sustain him on his sickbed in Jesus Name". That evening the doctor called me from the hospital and said that they received a second donor liver and Willie would go in for a second liver transplant on Saturday April 11th 2015.

This was a miracle from God. It was unknown that somebody will receive a second organ after only a few days. Willie received two livers in only five days.

Saturday afternoon after the second transplant the doctor called me and said that Willie had a better chance to survive.

April 13th 2015 the doctors took the dialysis off and reduced the medication, slowly started bringing Willie out of the coma.

April 14th 2015 they took Willie off the life support as his lungs, his kidneys, all organs functioned on their own, they stopped the medication and Willie came out of the coma. Willie started talking to me, slowly but clearly.

He was nine days in a coma. Willie is a living, walking miracle and God alone receive all glory, honour and praise. Our loving Father did not leave us and He will never leave nor forsake us. Amen.

Willie:- I received the gift of life but it came at a heavy cost. I do not know the two donors who God used to gave me life again. They were heroes which I never met. They lost their lives and I could live again. I will always be grateful. I will cherish my gift of life.

We all know Scriptures about Jesus that gave His life for us. 1 John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Galatians 1:4, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Matthew 20:28. I also knew these Scriptures but it was "head knowledge". But in 2015 it became a revelation that I experienced in my life that someone else died and now I live.

Jesus is truly a Healer of His people - Jehovah Rapha the Lord is our victory - Jehovah Nissi. It is commonly translated as "The Lord is my Banner" The root word for "Nissi" have several meanings, but the one which stands out for me is "a miracle". To me He is Jehova Nissi - The Lord is a Miracle Worker.

Today I am a living testimony that God is a Healer and a Miracle Worker. He is still doing it today! It is truly a miracle that I am living today. Praise the Lord. He was with me all the time. He carried me through!

Today I carry a big scar to remind me that I went through a great battle. It shows me that my wound has healed and that I SURVIVED. This is the greatest reason for living my life to the fullest.

I went through many traumas in 2015 with the illness, during the time of my transplants and afterwards during recovery. I also had soul wounds which needed healing. At the conference we went to last year, November 2023, the woman, Katie Souza talked about soul wounds and trauma.

When we returned the Holy Spirit revealed to me all the traumas. I made a listing of it. I remembered many of it but some of it was new to me. We prayed about it and the Lord healed me from all the soul wounds and trauma. Praise God.

God is not a respecter of persons. He loves all of us the same. What He did for me, He can and will do for everyone. Reach out to Him, He is here and His heart for all of us is to be healed, body and soul. Amen.
